ETBU Senior Earns Scholar All-American Honors

Good stuff out of ETBU. It is hard work to make a college deans list, but when you do so while also playing a sport, my hat is off to you!
MARSHALL, Texas – East Texas Baptist University senior Janna Wilson was named a 2006 Scholar All-American by the National Soccer Coaches Association, an honor that caps the four-year letterwinner’s record-setting career as a forward with the Lady Tigers.

Wilson, a native of Longview and former star at Pine Tree High School, was named to the NSCAA College Division second-team. She is the first player in the history of the program to be named a Scholar All-American by the NSCAA.

Wilson scored 21 goals this past season and finished with eight assists. She finished her four-year career at ETBU as the American Southwest Conference’s all-time leader in goals (73), assists (45) and points (191) and was a three-time All-ASC selection, including winning the conference’s Offensive Player of the Year award in 2005.

She was named All-South Region by the NSCAA as well as D3Kicks.com following the season, as well as being named All-American Southwest Conference for the fourth time in her career. She was also a three-time ASC All-Academic team selection.
